A Complete Guide to the 2025 Indian Wells Tennis Tournament
Welcome to a complete guide to the 2025 Indian Wells Tennis Tournament. Out of all the tournaments and Grand Slams that I have attended, the BNP Paribas is hands down the best. People call it #TennisParadise and they are spot-on!
One thing I want to say right away is that it is only August of 2024 and people are already talking about the 2025 Indian Wells tennis tournament and they are purchasing tickets. If you want to go and get the best seats, I wouldn’t wait. I would buy your tickets now and get your hotels and accommodations in place while you still have the most options available at the best prices.

Indian Wells Tennis Tournament is a BIG DEAL. Almost half a million people attend this tournament and Palm Springs isn’t that big. So again, I suggest you book your hotels now and get your tickets. The closer you get to the tournament, the fewer options you are going to have.
For a tennis fan, Indian Wells is an excellent opportunity to watch some amazing tennis, catch a break from the winter, and spend some time enjoying Palm Springs.
Whether you go to watch your favorite tennis stars on the practice courts, kick back in a high-class stadium suite, or go jumping around from stadium to stadium to see it all, Indian Wells never fails to deliver a world class tennis travel experience.
Also, Palm Springs is amazing if you haven’t been there before. Surrounded by stunning vistas with snow capped mountains in the distance, it is truly hard to beat the Coachella Valley in the wintertime.
How big is the tennis tournament at Indian Wells?
In 2024 over 493,000 people attended the BNP Paribas Open. Those 493,000 people created an economic impact of over a billion dollars.
But don’t let the numbers scare you off – this venue can accommodate those kinds of numbers without any trouble at all. And the event hosts have this thing running like a well-oiled machine. Everything runs smoothly and is first class.
The BNP Paribas Open is one of the most prestigious tennis tournaments in the world, attracting many of the world’s top players. In fact, in December 2023, the BNP Paribas Open was voted by players the ATP Tour Masters 1000 and WTA 1000 Tournament of the Year, for the ninth straight year. Indian Wells has been recognized as the premier 1000-level event of the season by both Tours since 2014.
Most People Call the Tournament Indian Wells
One thing to know – most tennis fans don’t call the tournament the BNP Paribas Open. They refer to the tennis tournament as either the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament, or more commonly, Indian Wells. If you tell anyone in the tennis world you are going to Indian Wells, they will know exactly what you are talking about. If you said you were going to the BNP Paribas Open, a lot of people wouldn’t know you meant Indian Wells.
The Tennis Garden at Indian Wells is stunning and attracts lots of tennis fans. It is the perfect combination of excellent venue and professional tennis. No surprise over 490,000 people attended in 2024.

Get Up Close With Tennis Stars
One of my favorite things about Indian Wells is that you get an opportunity to get close to players you normally only see on television. You can watch the players warm up for their matches on the practice courts and see what drills they are doing. You can see them warming up in the sports field by throwing a football, kicking a soccerball or doing some lunges. You get to see all the “behind the scenes” stuff you never get to see on television or at some of the Grand Slam events.
It is also great to watch the players joke around with each other and simply having a good time instead of always seeing them with their “game face” on. On the practice courts things tend to be a lot more relaxed. The players are having more fun and so are the fans. You get that real “rock star” atmosphere between the fans and players at Indian Wells as things are a lot more “close up.”
I also like seeing the players wearing the clothes they practice in every day. Once the television cameras are on for a match, you only get to see players “kitted up” in their sponsor’s gear. I like getting to see what they wear every day on the practice courts, and even better, what they wear out on the sports field.
Palm Springs is Excellent in Springtime
In case you didn’t know, Palm Springs is an incredible place to visit in the spring time. Living in Utah, by the time March rolls around, I am growing weary of winter. Spending a week at Palm Springs to attend the BNP Paris open is my favorite way to get some sunny warm weather while Utah is still buried under several feet of snow.
This tournament was the event that put Palm Springs (and Indian Wells) on the map for me. Prior to the tournament I had never been to Palm Springs. What do I think of Palm Springs? What can I say? I am a huge fan.
Of course I love tennis, but I have learned that Palm Springs is also a treasure trove of art, architecture and shopping that is off the chart.
One thing I truly love about Palm Springs is that if you are bringing your family with you, and they aren’t “into” tennis, there are a ton of activities for the whole family in Palm Springs. You can expect warm weather, excellent food, a vibrant art scene, delightful shopping areas, relaxing spas, and a welcoming atmosphere.
For the family there is world class golf, mountain biking, jeep tours, resorts with water parks in them, guided star seeing tours, and more. Whatever you and your family like doing, you will find it in Palm Springs.

Getting Tickets to Indian Wells
The first thing you need to do is get your tickets. In August 2024, people are already buying their tickets. I suggest you do the same right now if you want to get the seats you want.
We also suggest you book your accommodations. Especially if you are planning to try and book an AirBnB or stay at one of the big resorts. All of these will fill up fast.
We have been to Indian Wells for many years now, and we have some suggestions for you.
Our first suggestion is to pay attention to the sun. Palm Springs is in the desert, which means you are going to cook during the day and freeze at night. We have included a map below of the entire tennis garden – pay attention to the compass on the map.
If you are planning to attend matches during the day, make sure you get seats on the Western side of the Stadiums, or you will be getting blasted by the desert sun all day. And trust me, it can get really uncomfortable during the day in Palm Springs, even in the winter time.

My Ticket Suggestions
Ticket choices are going to depend a lot on you, but my suggestion is you just get a GROUNDS PASS!
Yes, you can get tickets for some of the big matches in Stadium one, but let me tell you, right outside of Stadium 1 are giant televisions with Adirondack Chairs where you can lounge away the day and watch the “big” matches.
Plus, outside, you can move around, talk, and have a good time.
Inside of Stadium 1, it gets pretty “stuffy” and I don’t mean the weather. You are not allowed to move around much and you are expected to be still and quiet. For some people this is fine, but for me, unless I am getting a box suite in Stadium 1, I am relaxing outside watching matches on the big screen and being comfortable.
So I suggest you get a Grounds Pass. It will get you access to so much! You can get into Stadium 2, and every other court in the venue. You will have full access to the practice courts, which I think is where most of the best action and viewing can be had.
You can find your grounds passes when you go the event website and click on Single Day Tickets, and then once you select the day/days you want, you will see the grounds passes available for that day: https://bnpparibasopen.com/tickets/single-session-tickets/

The Best Place to Sit for the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament
I have only been in the box suites at Indian Wells a few times, but I have to tell you, if anyone asks me what the very BEST WAY to watch Indians Wells is – it’s from a box suite. If you can splurge a little (or get an invite from someone whose company is renting a suite, it is an experience you shouldn’t miss. Club suites feature meals prepared by celebrity chefs, perfect climate control, excellent views of the court, and multiple big screen televisions.
Here is a link to purchase tickets for a box suite.

Map of the Tennis Garden at Indian Wells:
LINK TO THE SAME MAP ONLINE: http://bnpparibasopen.com/wp-content/uploads/2021/02/2020-BNPPO-site-map_revised-final.pdf
If you look at the map above you will see a compass in the lower right hand corner. We suggest you pay attention to it when you are buying tickets. If you end up on the east side of any stadium, you will be facing the sun. It can get pretty hot sitting in the desert sun all day watching tennis. We suggest if you are going into any of the stadiums you get seats on the west side of the stadium.
Parking at Indian Wells
There is a lot of General Parking at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden. On the Map it is listed as Parking Lot G.
You’ll notice on the map above that there are lots of other parking areas, but a lot of those are reserved for people buying box seating, and some of the other high end ticket packages. Valet parking is reserved exclusively for those people purchasing box seating or better.
ADA Parking
ADA Parking is available also in Lot G and the main website directs anyone with ADA parking requirements to enter through Gate #4.
BMW Private Parking?
Yes, they reserve special parking areas for you if you drive your beamer to the tournament. Which is great! Not only do you get to roll in your BMW, you get to park it with all the other BMW owners. Pretty cool! But be advised that you need to apply for the BMW parking pass before you arrive.
Get The Indian Wells App
Now that you’ve got your tickets, the next thing you need to do is download the Indian Wells App. Seriously – just do it. Everything you want to see, do, and know about is piped into the App. Yeah, the first year people complained about the app, but they’ve got it nailed down now.
What is so great about the BNP Paribas Open App?
It is packed full of useful information. Every event that is happening is on the app. Want to know which pros are warming up and when who is one the practice courts? It’s on the app. Want to know who is playing on which court and in which stadium – it’s on the app! Want to know which concerts are happening – it’s on the app. Want to know which athletes are hosting meet and greets and when? It’s on the app.
Did I mention you should absolutely, positively, unequivocally get the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament App? O.K. good, now follow the link below and go get the app. You can thank me in the comments (or in person if I see you there) later.

In the App Store it Looks like This:
Weather at The Indian Wells Tennis Tournament
When you are watching an outdoor tennis tournament over the course of one or two weeks, weather is going to be a factor. Not to mention, even though this is Palm Springs, it is still wintertime in March. If you are looking for suggestions for what to wear to the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament, please check out our other blog post about what to wear.
If you search for “averages” the weather channel says that averages during the day are around 80 yet get down to about 50 at night. What they don’t say is that there have been plenty of daytime highs close to 100 degrees and plenty of overnight lows in the low 30’s. They also don’t say that it is not uncommon for there to be a forty-degree difference between daytime and nighttime in the desert. Make sure you pack accordingly.
In general I can tell you to expect to sweat during the day and freeze at night. Do not expect to pack just one outfit into the tournament and have it be sufficient for all day and all evening. It won’t be.
Plan to either bring two or even three outfits with you, or plan to return to your hotel to change several times throughout the day. I usually bring layers so that I can add warmth as the sun sets.
Also, remember, you can’t bring a heavy backpack into Indian Wells. You can only bring into the venue what you can carry in a 12 x 12 x 6 see-through bag. So you probably aren’t going to be able to pack in all of the clothes you will need, so don’t plan on it.
Please see the section (and YouTube Video) on What’s in My Bag for the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament for some specific suggestions on what to bring and what to wear.
It tends to get chilly in the shade or in the evening, I suggest you take a stadium blanket with you.
Shopping at The Indian Wells Tennis Tournament
The first thing I do when I arrive (week 1) at Indian Wells is shop – and you need to pay attention to this. It isn’t just that I love shopping (I do) – if you don’t get to the premier pop up shops right away:
#1: Any special edition merchandise disappears fast
#2: Regular merchandise gets picked over very quickly
#1: Special Edition Merchandise
Don’t count on any of the special edition merch being online. These pop up stores often sell things that are NEVER listed on their website. So don’t think you can just pick this stuff up later. You won’t be able to.
There are a lot of shopping opportunities for Tennis Gear and Tennis Merch at Indian Wells. Lots of people don’t know this, but there are amazing pop up shops for major tennis retailers and merchandisers. Many of them bring special edition merch to Indian Wells – it sells out fast. Or if it isn’t gone all together, then they may not have your size by the time you get there. So get to these amazing pop ups, because they are not restocking anything out there in the desert. They sell whatever they bring and that’s it.
#2: Regular merchandise gets picked over very quickly
Beyond the special edition merch, the regular merch gets picked over very quickly. Remember, they aren’t going to restock. They sell what they bring and that is it. If you’ve never been to an event pop up, there are two great times to shop: The first day and the last day.
The first day because they have all of the latest greatest gear, clothing, and accessories. The retailers are often bringing items that aren’t on their website yet, and in some cases never will be, so make sure you get there on day one. There is nothing worse than finding an amazing shoe or piece of clothing only to find out they don’t have it in your size any longer and it isn’t for sale on the website.
The last day is a great day to shop because the retailers don’t want to truck all of that left over merchandise back to where it came from and then unpack and restock it. So they deep discount it to sell it rather than take it back.
But again, you can’t count on them having your size and usually the “best” and “most sought after” items sell out long before the last day. So unless you are a clearance rack shopper normally, I suggest you get there day one and get the things you want while they have them and while they are in your size.
Where to Shop First – Tennis Warehouse
One of the first things I love to do is hit the Tennis Warehouse tent they always have set up. It’s a pop up Tennis Warehouse and I love it! They bring oodles of stuff!
Make sure you go there first – Tennis Warehouse often has items they never put up on their website. Last year I got a great tennis themed sweater from one of their vendors that I never saw on their website at all. I had this one chance to get it at Indian Wells and that was it. Gone forever!
Last year I learned that some of the items they will be selling are limited edition and go to support charity. Those items hardly ever go online. Often, there will be representatives from each line of clothing on site, so you can hear about what is going on with each line and what some of the goals are for the brand.
And, sometimes they are selling items showcasing specific designers and those items also rarely go up online for sale – so if you see something you like at a pop up shop at Indian Wells, buy it! You may never get another chance and you’ll be talking about it years later and looking for it on eBay.
I always find things I want (and buy) at the Tennis Warehouse Pop Up Store at Indian Wells, so it is the first place I go shopping when I get there.
Plus, beyond the great merchandise Tennis Warehouse brings to Indian Wells, they also have a court set up just for them where you can try out all the latest tennis gear. Want to try every single new racket coming out? You can do that at the Tennis Warehouse pop up shop at Indian Wells.
They also have experts there to talk with you about strings, grips, and everything you need to know to pick out the perfect tennis racket for you. All right there at the pop up store.
Also, I love Tennis Warehouse’s Return policy. They will let you return darned near anything without any hassle, and I love that. It’s tennis, you don’t always pick out the perfect gear the first time, and although I always do my best to never abuse any retailer’s return policy, sometimes you need to return things and it is nice knowing they are cooperative and helpful rather than making you jump through hoops to return things.
Lots of Vendors to Choose From
I know I’ve been gushing a bit about Tennis Warehouse, but they are just one of the amazing pop up shops to visit. I just go there first because they are so amazing and their tent is so large. But there are tons of tennis themed shops of all sorts to choose from. And not just clothing. I am not a drinker, but there are LOTS of Bourgeois alcohol vendors there, and every type of gear you can imagine.
Fila Pop Up Store at Indian Wells
Fila is another store I love to visit at Indian Wells. Their pop up store is amazing. But beyond their store, Fila always has great events.
They often have guest speakers and host meet and great opportunities with some of the players. I went to one a few years ago where the guest speaker was clothing designer, Christopher Bevans. He talked about his design philosophy and I especially enjoyed him speaking of how he took inspiration from the public park for his line at Fila that year. It was so interesting and amazing to watch a clothing designer, speak live about his inspiration for his work!
Fila also hosts happy hours where you can “meet and greet” their sponsored players. What better way to get up close to your favorite tennis stars!
The Indian Wells Garden Pro Shop
The people at The Indian Wells Tennis Garden Pro Shop are ready to help new and experienced tennis players alike. Whether you have questions as a prospective member, looking for a tennis lesson or need help finding others to hit with the people at the Pro Shop can help you along.
The Pro Shop also houses all the hottest tennis gear on the market, so you can truly play like the pros while you’re out on the courts soaking up the California sunshine. They have the latest apparel, footwear and equipment from leading brands such as FILA (the official apparel provider of the Indian Wells Tennis Garden), Lacoste, Nike, TAIL and more.
If you’re not able to make it into the Pro Shop in-person, you can still browse our range of incredible tennis gear and apparel via the Tennis Paradise Online Shop.

Don’t Forget Shopping in Palm Springs!
Also, don’t forget that Indian Wells and Palm Springs are basically one place. And if you are into some really bougie shopping, then you MUST SEE the El Paseo Shopping District – or – as most people call it, the Rodeo Drive of the Desert!
How bougie is it? Well, I can visit all of my favorite stores there in one trip:
Louis Vuitton, Tiffany and Co, and Anthropologie are all right there, just to name drop a few.
Plus, when you are in the El Paseo Shopping District, there are lots of great places to eat. So what I like to do is take a late lunch break from the tournament, hit up all of my favorite shopping spots and eat lunch while I’m there. As I will discuss shortly, the food at the tournament is expensive, and not very good. You won’t find bad food anywhere in the El Paseo Shopping District – this I can promise you.
Food at The Indian Wells Tennis Tournament
I have to admit, the food at the venue itself is not my favorite. Not unless you are at a fancy private suite where the food is being catered or interested in acquiring a reservation at their very expensive restaurants, their food court is not that great.
But the good in general isn’t that good. It’s not just that it is expensive. I understand they have to make their entire year in two weeks. I expect food to be expensive at an event of any kind. But it isn’t just expensive – it’s also not good quality in my opinion.
I don’t mind paying extra, but I do mind paying extra AND the food be bad.
So I pack small snacks to get by and then eat outside of the venue. Maybe in years to come they will figure out how to get better quality food at the event, but until they do, I won’t be paying their exorbitant prices.
That being said, there is a restaurant in both Stadium 1 and Stadium 2. The restaurant in Stadium 1 is extremely expensive. The restaurant in Stadium 2 is hard to get into, so unless you make a reservation weeks in advance, I wouldn’t count on being able to walk in and get a table.
Can You Buy Alcohol at the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament?
Yes, you can purchase alcohol at the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament. I made this its own section because there is a lot of alcohol for sale at the tournament. And not just any alcohol – there is a lot of bougie alcohol to buy and sample throughout the tournament.
I don’t drink, but even I have noticed there is a ton of high-end alcohol to be purchased, sampled, and enjoyed. Apparently high end drinks go over well at major tennis tournaments. Nothing says fitness like drinking right? Haha!
Can You Bring You Bring a Bag Into The Tournament?
The answer is – sort of. You are allowed to carry in a clear bag that is no larger than 12 x 12 x 6. In addition to that clear bag, you are allowed to carry a small clutch or cross body bag. I got this great, yellow, see through LOVE tote from Courtgirl I have been using at tennis tournaments. You can purchase it from Courtgirl by clicking the link below:

Pro-Tip: Wear Good Shoes
I learned this the hard way the first year I went – wear good walking shoes! You are going to walk a lot, and just be on your feet a lot in general. The practice courts where I like to spend most of my time often are standing room only. Sometimes you will get lucky and find a place to sit and watch, but that is not always the case. I will say that your day at Indian Wells is MUCH more fun in comfortable and/or supportive shoes.
Wear your Apple Watch or Fitbit and see how many steps you get in – you’ll be shocked how many miles you walk.
Because of this, you should not wear wedges and this is not a place for “strappy heels,” or even flats. I know you want to look great at an event, and I do too, but there are ways to look good and still be comfortable.
My favorite pair of shoes for the tournament so far have been my On Running Shoes. They come in lots of colors and are crazy comfortable.
Places to Stay for The Indian Wells Tennis Tournament
One thing you’ll have no shortage of in Palm Springs are great places to stay. Spas and Resorts are nearly synonymous with Palm Springs. In fact, with so many great options for accommodations when visiting the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament, it can be hard to choose.
Below is our list of favorite places to stay when we attend the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament:
Table of Contents
Renaissance Esmeralda Resort and Spa
Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort and Spa
JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort
OMNI LAS PALMAS – PALM SPRINGS
As a club tennis player, getting to attend the tournament AND getting to play some tennis was a dream come true. In 2022 and 2023, I stayed at the Omni Las Palmas.
The Omni Rancho Las Palmas Resort & Spa is located in Rancho Mirage, California which is not far from the Tennis Garden where the Indian Wells Tennis tournament is held and has beautiful courts of their own to play on.
Las Palmas is full of beautiful palm trees and is a relaxing oasis with a beautiful backdrop of mountains in the distance.
Also, during the tournament they provided a shuttle so that you don’t need to worry about parking on site at the tournament.
The Omni Las Palmas also offers multiple onsite restaurants which I always appreciate. When you’ve been walking around the tennis tournament all day, sometimes you don’t want to leave the resort for dinner.
And for those members of your family who are not attending the tournament, there are plenty of activities for the whole family. Play tennis, visit the water park, enjoy 27 holes of championship golf, visit the splash pool or the adults only pool featuring private cabanas and peaceful spa.
Also, like most resorts, the Onmi Las Palmas features a world class spa.
PET FRIENDLY HOTEL PALM SPRINGS – And, rooms at the Omni Rancho Mirage are pet friendly so your fur babies can enjoy a great stay at this fabulous resort as well.
Kid Friendly Resort Palm Springs – Not all of the luxury resorts in Palm Springs cater to children, but the Omni Rancho Mirage has Kids Camps and more! From bracelet building to arcade credits, your kids are not going to get bored at the Omni Rancho Mirage: https://www.omnihotels.com/hotels/palm-springs-rancho-las-palmas/things-to-do/kids-activities
The Omni Las Palmas is a great place to stay for the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament. For me, I loved it because it was a short walk to the tennis courts, plus overall it is beautiful and relaxing.

LA QUINTA RESORT
The La Quinta Resort is a great place to stay for the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament.
It is a massive complex located just short of four miles from the Tennis Garden.
The Resort offers casitas, suites and villas, making it possible to accommodate a larger or smaller group. The grounds and pools are beautiful, making the La Quinta Resort a top pick for accommodations for the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament.
Plus, there are five golf courses, a spa, yoga, tennis, and pickleball to explore right on the property. In fact, there are over twenty tennis courts available on this property alone.
And, like most resorts, there are three different restaurants to choose from. Again, after a day at the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament, it is nice to not have to leave the hotel property again just to eat.
Check out the beautiful details in the design of the mission inspired architecture and landscaped grounds. Truly a wonderful place to be.

HOMEWOOD SUITES BY HILTON
The Homewood Suites by Hilton is a great place to stay for the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament if you are not going to go all in for a resort.
Why? Because the Homewood Suites is only half a mile from the Tennis Garden at Indian Wells. You can literally walk to the tennis tournament if you want to. Or you could easily ride a bike (there are bike racks available at the tournament).
Often when I travel, I stay in a Hilton and it has been nice to accrue points and status with a hotel line. (I also like to get status with Marriott, more on that later).
There is a nice pool, meeting center, free WiFi, free breakfast and a fitness center. It can be a great option for the traveler that wants to explore further and not pay the price of a resort.
I tend to go for a little more of a luxury travel experience, but I would say that if you aren’t going to stay at a resort for the Indian Wells Tournament, then staying at this location is probably your best bet.
But if you want to stay at the Homewood Suites in La Quinta for the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament, I suggest you book right away as this location will fill up quickly.

RENAISSANCE ESMERALDA RESORT & SPA
Located just two miles from the Indian Wells Tennis Garden, this is a decent place to stay for the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament.
This is a Marriott property, which is great for Marriott Rewards Members looking to spend some points or boost their points.
The outside is a little dated if you ask me, but the rooms themselves are amazing!
Again, this is a nice place to stay, but among the amazing resort properties in Indian Wells and the greater Palm Springs area, there are better resorts on our list. But again, they have a nice pool and onsite food and a spa – plus they are close to the tennis tournament. So if you are a Marriott lover, maybe this property is for you!

HYATT REGENCY INDIAN WELLS RESORT AND SPA
Pet Friendly and Dog Friendly hotels in Indian Wells for the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament. We all love our Doggos! If you are going to the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament and want to bring your fur baby with you, the Hyatt Regency is a pet friendly hotel you will love that is close to the Indian Wells Tournament. This is important – not all resorts are pet friendly!
Also, if you are bringing your family, the Hyatt Regency has a water park that includes water slides and a lazy river. All perfect for entertaining the kiddos if you are not planning to go to the tournament itself.
Not bringing the kids – no worries! There is an adult only pool, and a sanctuary area in the spa.
The Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort and Spa is located on what I like to call “resort row.” Meaning there are multiple resorts right in this are. But among them, you can’t go wrong with the Hyatt. It’s a great little resort with reasonable prices.

JW MARRIOTT DESERT SPRINGS RESORT
If you are looking for a resort near the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament that has EVERYTHING – and we do mean everything, then look no further than the JW Marriott Desert Springs Resort.
How amazing is the JW? How many other resorts are big enough to offer boat tours on the property? Seriously though!
The website at the JW Marriott resort lists over 100 adventures to choose from – on the resort.
There is a gaming room (a real gaming room), world class golf, multiple pools, boat tours, a complete 18 hole putting green course, 20 tennis courts on the property, a world class spa and more.
If you want to find a one-stop-shop resort that you will have no reason to leave other than to go to the Indian Wells Tennis Tournament, the JW Marriott has it all.
Personally, I am a Hilton Rewards Member, and am a big fan of Hilton properties, but you can’t go wrong with the Marriott Resort Properties. Everything they do is first class, and in some cases, we might have to make up a class for their magical properties – it’s that good!

THE PALOMA RESORT
Centrally located just south of Downtown Palm Springs, The Paloma Resort offers easy access to all that the desert has to offer, from golf to shopping, festivals, hiking and nightlife. At The Paloma Resort, the desert’s eclectic mix of cultures and colorful aesthetics come together seamlessly, blending Spanish influences with modernism to capture the essence of the Coachella Valley.
The Paloma Resort has a playful yet enticing aesthetic. There is a casual welcoming vibe, with warm hospitality and attention to detail. There are five room types to choose from at The Paloma, but they evoke the style and distinct personality of some of the desert’s iconic communities. The Studio Bungalows and 1- or 2-bedroom suites all feature popping colors, clean lines, and contemporary amenities.
The Paloma has a rich history in the Coachella Valley. The Paloma Resort property has evolved along with the region for almost a century and embodies many of the influences that shaped the Coachella Valley into what it is today.
Originally surrounded by date and palm groves, part of the grove still exists and provides beautiful views from some of the resort’s patios and windows. The property first became a hotel in the 1950s and was owned by the Elizabeth Arden Corporation, which developed it as a ‘beauty’ retreat — the first in the Valley! As The Villa Resort, the property was one of the area’s most beloved gay-friendly travel destinations for several decades, before The Villa closed in 2017.
The restaurant that is found in the hotel is called Sol y Sombra, where they serve up a “true taste of the desert” in the original adobe building. Helmed by Palm Springs’ iconic restaurateur, Chad Gardner, the menus are in keeping with the Adobe’s Spanish architecture and flavor. Chef Gardner has developed a tapas-style menu that celebrates the Coachella Valley’s agricultural roots, lacing Spanish-inspired dishes with citrus, dates, chilies and other locally-grown ingredients. Paella fans can sample several versions of the signature Spanish dish, ranging from traditional to vegetarian.

Summary – A Complete Guide to The 2025 Indian Wells Tennis Tournament
There are a lot of tennis tournaments you can go to, but Indian Wells is my favorite. I attended the US Open this year and as I write this I am about to leave for the Rolex Tennis Tournament in Paris. I participated in the Of Love Tennis Tournament here locally in Utah. I loved them all. But nothing compares to the overall experience of Indian Wells.
The tennis garden, the shopping, getting to see the players up close, and Palm Springs are all amazing. They built paradise in the middle of the desert, and then placed an amazing tennis venue right in the middle of it.
The art, the food, the resorts are all so intoxicating. If you could only go to one major tennis tournament in your life, my suggestion would be to go to Indian Wells. And should you be flying, did you know you can carry your tennis racket on a plane? You can – read my blog about it!
