Making a Racquet in March
A monthly update for the Tennis Yellow lifestyle.

Welcome to March
Welcome to the March edition of Making a Racquet. March is a great month for sports and tennis is no exception. The month starts off in Indian Wells, California with the BNP Paribas tournament. This is my all time favorite tournament to attend. Check out my blog post, “A Complete Guide to the 2025 Indian Wells Tennis Tournament” for tons of tips and hints to make the tournament extra fun.
Resort Wear for Indian Wells and Miami
Whether you are planning a trip to Indian Wells, or another sunny spring destination, check out some of these perfect outfits that are perfect if you are going for some “resort wear” vibes. Traveling in the spring can be tricky. Here are some things to keep in mind when you are out for fun and sun in the desert.

Tennis Superstitions
Tennis players are known to be a superstitious bunch of people. Most tennis players have routines and processes that they follow to stay in a positive mind space while on the court. Many tennis players have a good luck charm in or on their bag. Here are a couple of things that I enjoy and admire. Check those items out here.

What do you feel brings you good luck when on the tennis court? I have a small bracelet that I wear that has three words on it. Those words are; Trust, Focus and Create. Sometimes I look at the bracelet and it helps me focus on what my goals are. This has been effective both on and off of the tennis court.
Dirty Sodas are Getting Popular
Utah culture has been on the forefront of culture recently. If you have watched the gals on Real Housewives of Salt Lake City or the MomTok Mamas on Hulu, you will have noticed that they are rarely far from their Stanley mugs or their styrofoam cups from Swig. Have you tried a dirty soda? They can be anything from a refreshing water with flavored syrups with a fresh squeeze of citrus or a diet coke with coconut and lime. These drinks are so popular here in Utah. If you are wondering what all of the rage is, follow along. I spotlight a dirty soda of the week and provide the recipe. I would love to know which one is your favorite!

Book Corner - Let Them by Mel Robbins
Tennis fans are well acquainted with the huge Grand Slam tennis tournament that is held in a little London village called Every month I review a book here at Tennis Yellow. If you would like to explore the whole bookshelf of books that I have read, please check out my Good Reads Account at https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/124809-katri-koehle

This book really hit home for me. Both on and off of the tennis court, the idea of letting people show you who they are is a really powerful idea. Mel Robbins is a speaker and an author that I have admired and respected for a while and the idea of, “letting people show you who they really are” is an idea that helped her and her social media account go mega viral. The part of the book that was new for me was the part where she explores the next part of the question that comes after you say, “let them.” That second part of the equation is, “let me.” We are more powerful than sometimes we think. This book was really powerful in helping me see the areas that I can let go and other parts where I can take ownership.
As club tennis players, sometimes we have to deal with teammates or opponents that are difficult. This book offers tools and describes a mindset that helps keep a positive mindset that helps while in a tennis match or dealing with family members. This book is a great one. I hope you will pick it up and let me know what you think about this one.
This book made such a splash, check out all the merchandise that incorporates this message!
